The M.V. CWB Marquis is CWB’s first ship, and the third of eight Equinox class ships to be operated on the Great Lakes. The Equinox class was developed by Algoma Central Corporation. Years of Great Lakes operational experience by Algoma’s staff was incorporated into the Equinox design, which has resulted in the most advanced and efficient freighter to work on the Great Lakes.

CWB has historically been one of the largest grain shippers in the Great Lakes, and is pleased that the M.V. CWB Marquis will be employed, almost entirely, in moving grain from the head of Lake Superior to St. Lawrence River ports, and bringing iron ore back upriver to ArcelorMittal Dofasco in Hamilton.
